The
Microsoft Identity Integration Server 2003 Management Pack monitors the health
of Identity Integration Server on computers that are running Identity
Integration Server 2003 to improve the availability, performance, and security
of your Identity Integration Server deployment.
This
readme describes how to install the Identity Integration Server Management Pack
in Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007. For more information

Before You Import the Identity
Integration Server Management Pack
Before
you import the Identity Integration Server Management Pack, you must install
the updated Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 Backward Compatibility
Management Pack, 6.0.5000.12. You can download the Backward Compatibility

If you do not install the
updated Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 Backward Compatibility
Management Pack before you install the Identity Integration Server Management
Pack, your installation of the Identity Integration Server Management Pack
will fail. |
S upported Applications
The
Identity Integration Server Management Pack monitors computers that are running
Microsoft Identity Integration Server 2003 to function optimally,
your computers must meet the following requirements:
• Each system running Identity Integration Server must be managed
by System Center Operations Manager 2007.
Note |
You can run only one
localized version of a converted Management Pack at a time. To use a version
of the Management Pack for a different language, uninstall the Management
Pack, and then install the version of the Management Pack for the language
that you want. |

After you download the Identity Integration Server Management
Pack, import it into System Center Operations Manager 2007.
To import the Identity
Integration Server Management Pack
1.
In the Operations Console, on the Go menu, click Administration.
2.
In the navigation pane, expand Administration.
3.
Right-click Management Packs, click Import Management
Packs, select Microsoft.IdentityIntegrationServer
(Converted), and then click Open.
4.
Follow the instructions in the wizard.

Optional Configuration
After
you import the Identity Integration Server Management Pack, it begins to
discover and monitor computers without additional configuration. You can,
however, configure the Identity Integration Server Management Pack for your
environment and your preferences. For example, some of the monitors or rules
are disabled by default, and you can turn them on if you want to. Or, if the
performance-measuring rules that are enabled by default degrade performance on
your servers with slow WAN links, you can turn them off.
To enable a monitor
1.
In the Operations Console, on the Go menu, click Authoring.
2.
In the navigation pane, expand Management Pack Objects, and
then click Monitors.
3.
In the Monitors list, expand the target that you want until
the monitor appears.
4.
Right-click the monitor that you want, point to Overrides,
point to Override the Monitor, and then click For
all objects of type: <type of object>.
5.
Under Override-controlled parameters, in the Override
column, select the Enabled check box.
6.
In the Override Setting column, in the drop-down menu,
click True, and then click OK.
To enable a
rule
1.
In the Operations Console, on the Go menu, click Authoring.
2.
In the navigation pane, expand Management Pack Objects, and
then click Rules.

and then under Target, select the check boxes for the Identity
Integration Server components. |
3.
Under Rules, right-click the rule that you want to turn on,
point to Overrides, point to Override
the Rule, and then click For all objects of type: <type of object>.
4.
Under Override-controlled parameters, in the Override
column, select the Enabled check box.
5.
In the Override Setting column, in the drop-down menu,
click True, and then click OK.
To disable a
rule
1.
In the Operations Console, on the Go menu, click Authoring.
2.
In the navigation pane, expand Management Pack Objects, and
then click Rules.
